RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

http://sthildas.blackboard.com/bbcswebdav/courses/12-6260_R/RAIDERS%20OF%20THE%20LOST%20ARK.jpg
Genre: Action
Fast-paced, fighting scenes, suspense, dark mysterious places
cuts were used in the movie
Style of Acting:
Over-acted, Indiana Jones acts mysterious and interacts with the props "hat and golden statue", makeup to enhance the face, boot polish to create the sense of the dirty heroic act
 Props:
Whips, Guns, outback adventurous clothing -"the hat", cobweb, light
Lighting:
Dark lighting and shadowing was used which made the movie/scene more mysterious.
The temperature of the lighting was made hot, humid and in the scene of the dark cave the temperature turned cold - it creates the feeling of coldness, shiver and scary
Setting:
This movie was set in a mysterious outback forest. It reminds me of the wild west.

NOTTING HILL

Genre: Comedy/Romance
Dominant close up to express the emotions and connection within the audience becoming an intimate relationship. Wide Long shot to create an atmosphere, setting and contrast. The genre suits this movie as it's creates a lovable but funny relationship between characters. Bird's eye view at the end of the scene created that metaphor of emphasizing the camera in a big picture.
Style of Acting:
The main two characters always make themselves really likable, down to earth when they act and show's their weakness as the audience can connect.
Props:
The clothing was casual, comfortable, stylish and fashionable to fit in with the time, the clothing is also fitted in to have an audience connection on a level. The "brownie" was used as a reward that was the most pathetic, and sharing the worst of the worst stories which had an intimate connection between friends, The Fence - William the character of Hugh Grant shows that he was nervous and holding back and emphasis how different and modest he was in he's character. The wheelchair contributed to the story was trying to show that Anne wanted to connect with Williams family by asking what happened, The bench symbolized true love; two people who experienced a life of long life.
Lighting:
Mood lighting, the temperature of the lighting was a warm temperature and "the park scene" a moon light was used to cool it down on a summer's night to portray that intimate moment the two had together.
